The Commerce Department of the College offers two core courses: B.Com (Hons) & B.Com (Pass) alongwith one vocational course, B.A. (Program) ASPSM (Advertising, Sales Promotion & Sales Management) and two restructured courses, B.A.(Program) OMSP (Office Management & Secretarial Practices) and B.A. (Program) IRPM (Industrial Relations and Personal Management).

The Department organizes different inter-class activities like Commerce Quiz, Paper Presentation and Poster Making Competition. The annual Inter-College event COMFEST is a major attraction and it draws participation from different colleges of the University of Delhi and other institutes in various competitions.  Another annual feature of the department is the Industrial Trip whereby the students get an opportunity to observe the different stages in the process of Production and Management.

The Department is planning to start two additional courses from this year to give an extra edge to the students of Commerce. The courses are C.A. (Foundation) and short term Computer Courses in association with a Computer Institute.

The English Honours course that is being taught in Delhi University since 1999 has opened up the canon to include new areas of studies, making it an exciting inter-disciplinary field.

The new curriculum comprises English Literature originating not only in its parent country but also written in India,  the  African Countries, the West Indies and Canada and includes works translated from other languages. This course is suitable for students with an aptitude for Literature and Writing,or those who have an interest in Media or Journalism.

The Department’s Literary Association organises lectures and talks on issues related to the course and film screenings are also arranged to introduce students to various adaptations of Literary forms. The endeavour is to widen students’ horizons and to sensitize them to literature as a field that is dynamic, relevant and politically and socially alive.

The Department runs an exclusive book club that is managed by the students and faculty of the Department of English. The Book Club is an interactive forum for writers and artists and since its establishment, many writers and poets of English Literature in India have interacted with the Book Club members to talk about their works and lives.

The College magazine, Apoorva, supports an extensive English section that showcases the creativity of the students.

Geography as a subject: Geography helps in understanding the complexities of the contemporary world. It explains how people, places and problems are related. By this geographers are able to provide solutions to various environmental, economic and social problems.

The Degree program: Students can take geography as a single Honours subject for a B.A (Hons.) degree or take Geography in combination with other subjects for a B.A Programme. The Honours programme includes Basic and Applied courses covering various fields of Physical Geography, Environment and Resources, Population, Tourism, Urban Geography, Regional Planning, Cartographic Methods, Remote Sensing and GIS, Evolution of Geographical Thought, Geography of South Asia and Political Geography.

The Department of Hindi offers the following courses:

The Department of Hindi has a competent faculty. The efforts of the faculty and hard work of the students, helps the students secure University positions . Through the activities of the Hindi Literary Society, the department gives students the opportunity to express and realize their literary interests and skills. Throughout the year many literary personalities such as Writers, Critics and Poets are invited to interact with students.

The Department also organises lectures by eminent linguists and media personalities to acquaint students with the work being carried out in these fields.

In addition a number of competitive and non-competitive literary events are organized. Poetry recitals by prominent poets are organized. The department often celebrates anniversaries of well known literary figures in which students take active part.

To encourage the literary talents of students, every year the Department organizes inter-college Hindi Debate and inter-college Poetry Writing Competition. Along with this we also hold inter-class debates, poetry writing and creative writing competitions.

In order to equip our students with some professional knowledge the Department offers the following two optional papers for students of Hindi Hons. 3rd year:

a)   Journalism                         b)   Functional Hindi

In future the Department wishes to offer computer program's for Hindi learners.  Lectures will also be arranged on the new courses that are being introduced by the University.
